Toolport
Toolport (formerly Conduit) is an open-source, local-first Model Context Protocol gateway that puts every MCP server behind one port shared by all your AI clients, eliminating the tool-list bloat that slows agents as you add servers. Built in Rust with a Tauri + React desktop app (MIT, 108 stars on GitHub), it advertises a few compact meta-tools the agent searches on demand instead of dumping every server's full tool list into context on each request - up to 96% less tool-definition overhead (about 24,000 tokens for 3 servers down to roughly 900), rising to 99.5% on a 415-tool catalog, and up to 91% fewer total tokens at the same task success. You authenticate each server once and every AI client (Claude, Cursor, Codex, 32+ auto-detected) shares it, with secrets in the OS keychain, tool-integrity and quarantine checks, human-in-the-loop approval for destructive calls, per-tool governance toggles, and per-server latency and error-rate audit logs. Toolport is ideal for developers whose agents get slower and costlier as their MCP fleet grows.
