Foreman
Foreman by Northwood Systems is a self-hosted LLM gateway for routing coding-agent and application traffic across model providers with cost, cache and policy awareness. It runs as one Go binary inside a team’s network, keeps provider keys in environment variables, exposes OpenAI and Anthropic-compatible surfaces, pins conversations while prompt caches are warm, and records routing decisions in a queryable ledger. Developers can point Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Pi and similar harnesses at Foreman, then enforce budgets, inspect trace IDs, compare rejected alternatives, and decide when cheaper models are safe enough. The July 8 Show HN launch and official Apache-2.0 repository verify concrete docs for gateway APIs, policies, client setup, deployment and spend summaries.
